Here comes the Man in Black

This place is death

This place is death

Greetings fellow Losties. Rumors that I was captured by the Smoke Monster have been overstated, although that would have been a much cooler story than me working 16 hour days. I’ve returned just in time to do a mad recap of the last few episodes and to run a few theories by you before tonight’s widely anticipated episode. Just a warning, if you’ve been hiding under whatever rock Ben & Richard Alpert are under and don’t want to know who tonight’s episode is about please read no further. As always, I never post spoilers and am only going by last week’s previews..

I have that same feeling I had before the Richard Alpert episode only there is even MORE anticipation…a Smoke Monster centric episode! And if we’re really lucky it’ll be a Smokey & Jacob centric episode. Somewhere around the age of 12, I am sad to say, I stopped feeling that Christmas zeal that kept me from sleeping on xmas eve (Dear Santa bring me a Super Nintendo). Well that feeling is back in spades. Somehow I was able to get a few hours of sleep last night, however, I don’t know how I’ll get through work today (is it 9pm yet?) Ok now what I’ve missed…

I won’t even try to cover the last 3 episodes in a single blog considering we had 3 main deaths and a Desmond episode. First the deaths. I have criticized this show as being afraid to kill any of the 5-6 main characters and I stubbornly stand behind that remark. As devastated as I was to see Jin & Sun die, (there may not be crying in baseball but it should be allowed in LOST) there’s still a chance they’ll live happily ever after. If Timeline X turns out to be the real timeline then they will be alive. I understand the writers can’t reveal what’s going on with Timeline X yet but the alternate timeline does take a little away from the tragedy of our favorite characters’ deaths.

As far as the deaths go, for me it ranks second to Charlie’s death in terms of most heart-wrenching. Charlie’s death was built up too long and was in the service of self-sacrifice so it felt a bit “grander”. On the other hand, as some of my LOST friends will note, I didn’t reply to text messages or answer phone calls for at least 30 minutes after the episode ended. I’m revealing to them for the first time that I was hiding behind the excuse of “I’m watching it on TIVO delay and I’ll get back to you when I’m finished”. While this was perfectly true, I still took much longer than needed to get back to them. After grieving for Jin once, I found the second time unbearable. Their daughter is an orphan and will never meet her father. Why didn’t Sun demand Jin save himself for their daughter?Damn you Jacob and your stupid island!

Last thought on the deaths, are we going to miss Sayid? After being character-assassinated for almost the entire season, he snapped out of his “no feelings” trance to spare Desmond and try to save the Losties on the sub. This brings up more questions on what it means to become infected by the Smoke Monster. I really hope they at least clear that matter up this week. It also speaks to my biggest grip against season 6: stop making my favorite characters lame!

Ok, I think I bitched enough, especially since the past few episodes have been awesome. I loved the Hurley and Libby re-kindlement, loved the Desmond episode and I love Desmond playing the role of Jacob in Timeline X. Let me hit you with some of my thoughts from the last few episodes:

  • FINALLY Timeline X has become interesting and relevant!
  • Eloise told Desmond that Timeline X is a reality where everyone gets what they want. How is she able to see The Matrix? Is it real? Do Smokey & Jacob know about it? Sayid confirmed that Smokey promised to bring back Nadia. Was Smoking manipulating Sayid or was he talking about Timeline X?
  • Add Desmond to my list of people I believe have been J-Touched. I can’t believe I missed the fact that he’s immune to Electromagnetic Energy. While we’re at it, Eloise was probably J-Touched too
  • Why didn’t Smokey kill Desmond to being with? Why throw him down a well? I have a theory coming up on why Desmond is fatal to Smokey
  • I’ll take last week’s episode as confirmation that Smokey needs all the candidates to die before he can leave the island. People have asked how he knew that some of the candidates survived and my theory is because I think he would know when he became free. If nothing else, he will likely be able to change his appearance back the form back that “Jacob stole from him”
  • So whispers are dead people trapped on the island. I’ve had a tough time sorting out when a dead person was a Smokey-impersonation and when it was just a dead person. In the end I I decided that Hurley is the only one that sees real dead people, because of his power, and the rest were probably Smokey.
  • How the hell is Widmore’s island intel so good?? How did he know about Desmond’s EM ability and the 100 other things he seems knows. Someone is communicating with him and I think it’s Jacob
  • I think Kate was removed as a candidate because she is a mom now. She would never have put the island before Aaron. My theory falls apart when you ask about Kwon but technically Jin never met his daughter

Before I finish this blog, I need to get my Desmond theory on the record. I think that Smokey is Electromagnetism-incarnate when he is the black smoke thing and thus cannot hurt Desmond in that form. I also believe Desmond is the only person that can kill Smokey. My backup theory is that the pockets of energy on the island give Smokey his power and Desmond will either have to use those pockets to kill Smokey or destroy the pockets to kill Smokey. Either way, Dez is gonna do in Smokey.

Finally, I just want to say something about Jacob. Since the Richard Alpert episode I’ve hated Jacob. If Jacob is containing Smokey on the island in order to save humanity, then Jacob is a huge asshole. Follow me here. If manipulating a human into killing Jacob is the only loop-hole to free Smokey, then why does Jacob take that risk of bringing people to the island? He told Richard it was because he wants to prove to Smokey that people can be good. If that’s the real reason than Jacob is even worse than Smokey because he’s risking the destruction of humanity just to prove a stupid point. Dear Jacob, stop bringing people to the island, everyone is happier in Timeline X without you and your stupid island, Love Finally Lost. P.S. you suck. All that said, it does not explain: “It only ends once, the rest is just progress”.

Next up on Finally Lost, we’ll discuss the big episode and talk a little about all these LOST Finale parties going on. Any guesses on who I’ll be dressing up as??

Other Ben, meet Dr. Linus

Come on, she's only my daughter in another alternate reality

Come on, she's only my daughter in another alternate reality

After a barrage of action-packed episodes, “Dr. Linus” was a much needed return to the character driven episodes that filled Seasons 1-3. Don’t get me wrong, I love a smoke-filled mass killing episode as much as the next guy, but LOST was a show built on character development ,so I was happy to see it return to its roots. This episode was written to perfection. It had a great character-centric arc, all while finding time to develop a non-centric character (Jack I’m looking at you). in addition, we got confirmations about Richard’s history, big answers about Jacob’s touching (that’s what she said) and a Nikki & Paolo throwback compliments of everyone’s favorite grave digger, Miles. If all that wasn’t enough, Alex looked so smokin that Flocke should have jumped timelines and asked HER to take his place instead of her surrogate dad.

I’ll get straight to the point, I loved that Ben was redeemed in both timelines. After complaining that Ben never displays human motives or emotions, he became a character this week. I think Mile’s insight into Jacob’s last thoughts cut Ben pretty deep and I really believed that Ben was both sorry for killing Jacob and grief-stricken over his daughter’s death. In the flash sideways we get a glimpse of what kind of person Ben could be if there was no island and no pool of resurrection (more on this later). Have I mentioned that everyone but Kate is happier in Timeline X?? Damn you Jacob!!

Lastly, I think it’s ironic that the episode hyped to be the demise of Benjamin Linus, turned out to be the episode that saved his character. As my watching-buddy noted, no one was going to be that heartbroken over a Ben Linus death at this point in the season because he was already character-assassinated by poor writing. Now, however, he is a redeemed character. Welcome back to the land of the living Dr. Linus, unfortunately for you, the LOST writers tend to kill characters after making them likable (see Charlie & Shannon).

Now the quick hits:

  • THE GIFTS!! So Jacob can give someone a gift/power if he touches you. He gave Richard the power of agelessness and I’m assuming he gave Walt & Miles their abilities as well. Remember when Miles was thrown into a truck and Jacob’s body guards told him they could explain where his power comes from? They must have known he was J-touched
  • Did Jacob give Locke the power to self-heal?? He shouldn’t have survived that fall. Did Jacob give Jack the power to heal people?? Clearly Sawyer got perfect-man-scruff power and Kate got a great rack for a woman so petite (mmm)
  • I find it very interesting that Jacob was hoping that Ben didn’t kill him. Jacob knew about the plot but didn’t want to die. Hmmm. And yes we all noticed Ben was J-touched
  • Smokey offered Ben his place as the island’s “defense system”. If Smokey was telling the truth then maybe my theory that says Smokey is trapped on the island by Jacob isn’t so bad. Hold that thought…
  • We never found out how Ben got off the island dammit! What’s even more interesting is that it appears that Ben & his father left before the incident occurred. I don’t know the nuke going off could have changed things previous to the incident going off. My brain hurts thinking about the implications…
  • During the re-showing of “Sundown” there was a pop-up that said Charles Widmore told Locke that “a war was coming to the island and if he (Locke) isn’t on the island, then the wrong side will win”. That made me think that Widmore was on the sub. Stupid pop-up foreshadowing/spoilers
  • If Widmore has been working with Smokey, how have they communicated?? Maybe Widmore & Eloise have been working together to get the O6 (Jacob’s candidate’s) back on the island so they can replace Jacob
  • Why did Smokey leave the Losties on the beach alive? Even if he has to spare the candidates, why not kill Miles and Jurassic Pork (Ilana, thanks Franny)?
  • Move aside John Locke, Jack is the new Man of Faith. The dynamite scene was kinda bad-ass and the coolest thing Jack’s done since getting Sawyer to admit he banged lots of prostitutes in front of Kate

Finally, make sure your seat back and tray tables are in their full upright position because it’s PREDICTION TIME!!

I think that Smokey AND Jacob have to be replaced before Smokey can leave the island. That’s why I think Smokey can’t kill the candidates, he needs to keep the potential replacements alive! I think Smokey killed Jacob because Jacob was being too picky about his replacements. After waiting more than a thousand years for Jacob to take his sweet ass time, a pissed off and island-fever induced Smokey decided to kill Jacob to speed up the replacement process. Jacob said, “It only ends once, the rest is just progress.” I think he is talking about finding a replacement. Maybe Smokey thinks Jacob’s replacement criteria is too tough to fill because fighting get’s a candidate removed from the cave/lighthouse list. Clearly these two are in desperate need of Monster.com

And yes, I believe Jacob wants Jack to be his replacement while Sawyer is Smokey’s number one stunna (along with many women). Interestingly enough Sawyer has been on a island a long time and I think he’s more attached to it than he knows.

Thoughts??

Aww he’s got his daddy’s cries!

It's my dad's funeral and I'll cry if I want to..
Full disclosure, my TV Forecast widget lists when all my shows are going to be new and what the title of the show will be. So last week I kept asking myself, Lighthouse?? There’s not a lighthouse on the island… it must be an off-island reference. WRONG. Not only is there a Lighthouse on the island but it’s less than a days walk from the temple. “Dude, I guess we never really looked for it.” Oh yea Hurley?? Ok professor, do you also care to explain how everyone is bouncing from one side of the island  to the other in less than 15-show-minutes when those same journeys took 4 episodes in season 1! I digress. There is a lighthouse on the island where the degrees correspond to candidates and it allows Jacob to play peeping Tom on just about anyone. Any thoughts on why it showed Jack’s house from when he was 8? I thought for sure it was going time show Timeline X…

Now onto Daddy Jack. Not Christian (I’m going to have to come up with a new nickname for him now) but Crying Jack is a dad! Clearly setting off a nuke in 1977 can setoff a chain of events where Jack knocks up some yet-to-be-named chippie and causes his appendix to burst at age 7 or 8. Interestingly enough Jack would have been about 7 or 8 around 1977…maybe the explosion ruptured his appendix!?!? Despite his initial shortcomings as a father, I was really rooting for Jack to repair his relationship with his son. Rooting for Jack isn’t something I’ve done since season 3 and it’s something I thought I could never do after he caused Juliet’s death. Amazing how the writers own my emotions….

As interesting as the differences are between Timeline Prime and Timeline X, I think the most interesting fact is that the majority of the Losties are happier in Timeline X. Hurley is clearly  happier, Locke has Helen and has accepted his benched fate (also being alive is better than being dead), Jack has a son and despite crying just as much, seems to be a little better off, Prego (Claire) is going to keep her baby and I bet if you took a poll of most folks on Oceanic Flight 815 they would prefer to life over island death. I’m not going to judge anyone who hasn’t had a centric episode but I will concede Kate is worse off and I’m sad that Rose will likely die.

Speaking of the centric episodes, have most people picked up on the fact that we are following the same character centric-order as the season 1? I completely forgot that Jack got a second centric episode so early on and thought that this week would be all about Sun. Woops. I’ve posted the season 1 order and my guesses for the season 6 order. I have listed candidate replaces for those centric episodes that seem really unlikely to occur (Charlie, Boone, I’m looking at you).

Episode Season 1 Season 6
Pilot (1/2) Jack/Charlie Various
3 Kate Kate
4 Locke Locke
5 Jack Jack
6 Sun ?Sun?
7 Charlie ?Ben?
8 Sawyer ?Sawyer?
9 Sayid ?Sayid?
10 Claire ?Claire?
11 Jack ?Jack?
12 Kate ?Kate?
13 Boone ?Richard!?
14 Michael & WAAAALT ?Jacob?
15 Charlie ?Smokey?
16/17 Sawyer/Jin ?Various?

And a few quick hits:

  • My Lost viewing buddy, Franny, described me as positively “giddy” when Jack and his son were tearing up at the same time. If only Christian was there to complete the trifecta, although he doesn’t really strike me as a crier.
  • I believe the most popular theory is that Juliet is Jack’s baby’s father??
  • Is it just me or does Jacob seem way more smug now that he’s dead? I’m sure the writers don’t want to give away who’s bad and who’s good but I liked Jacob more last season.
  • Both Jacob & Smokey lied and manipulated people this week. Jacob lied to Hurley about the lighthouse and Smokey’s been lying to Prego about Aaron living with The Others. Smokey’s lie is definitely bigger, which makes me still think he’s the baddie, HOWEVER, given all that has changed in Timeline X, it’s clear that Jacob has been pulling Michael Corleone-like strings. If I’m right about Timeline X being the happier place for our Losties, then maybe Jacob is the baddie after all…
  • I wonder how different Sawyer’s life will be if he never wrote that letter to Sawyer
  • Since Dogen was at David’s piano tryout I guess I was wrong about him being captain of The Black Rock. Come on, dude looks like a captain of a ship called The Black Rock!
  • I guess Prego doesn’t know that Christian & “her friend” are the same person? P.S. Did she shop at Russo-R-Us for her trap and camp gear?

Next up on Finally Lost, I’ll post my answers to this week’s Stream of Consciousness Q/A (Who will be the next Jacob and Who/what is Richard Alpert) along with my favorite answer from another blogger. I’d also like to finish my island org chart and explore the Timeline X changes a bit more…

p.s. While I try to limit the number of theory blogs I read in order to keep this blog as theory-independent as possible, I am undoubtably influenced by the Wednesday morning quarterbacking I do with some of my Lost friends. This is my once and future shout out to Franny, Brian and anyone else who may have influenced my thoughts which resulted in me posting it as a theory or thought. The humor, however, is all mine :P

Whatever happened, happened

Dude I dare ya, change time!!
Based on the results of the latest poll most of you seem to agree…whatever happened happened dammit! That is at least what 75% (58%+17%) of you believe, however, you have disagreements on what exactly will happen to the Losties in the past. So to recap the question: What happened at the end of season 5:

58% of you said it was always the incident and the Past Losties got pushed back to the present. Simple and straight forward. I would contend that if this is true then we wouldn’t really need a Season 6, just give us a really long epilogue and tells us what the whispers mean, who Jacob & Smokey are and why the Dharma heli-droppings have continued. All that being said there is a lot of evidence to support this theory.

  • First there is Faraday’s statement that you CAN’T change the past and what happened happened. In addition to raising some paradoxical questions, it would be poetic if our Losties caused the incident all along which eventually forced them to crash land on the island.
  • Also some people believe Dr. Chang had a prosthetic arm in the Swan video and it was noted that he crushed his arm during “The Incident” serving as circumstantial evidence that whatever happened, happened (WHH)

While the majority of you find solidarity in the WHH camp, you disagree what will happen to the Losties because 17% of you think they will stay in the past. It would be very interesting to see how the Losties in the past would continue to affect the island’s future. There is a popular theory that Rose & White Bernard are really the “Adam & Eve” skeletons and I think that would be a great ending for those characters. Again, I would have to question “what is the point?” if this were the outcome. Plus how is everyone going to survive the radiation fallout if they somehow survive the blast!

17% of you said screw time and the screw the incident, Juliet reset everything and it’s gonna be a whole new ball game. While I REALLY don’t want this to happen, this is what I think is going to happen. I also think the nuke was always the incident so I’m currently fighting a civil war with myself. Clearly they CAN’T erase all the consequences of the previous 5 seasons but I think the writers will toy with us for a while. Jacob said, “it only ends once, anything that happens before that is just progress”. Was he referring to a time loop?? Did Jacob orchestrate the nuke so he could save his own life as I’ve previously predicted?? I don’t know any other way to explain why those particular 5 Losties got sent back in time when the rest of the AA flight crashed on the island. It is also curious why the Oceanic Flight 815 survivors, the boat survivors AND Juliet were jumping in time but The Others stayed put. Also if you remember in season 3 The Others were building a airstrip that AA316 just happened to land on. Last thought on this, I do believe Faraday changed time when he visited Desmond in the hatch which completely negates WHH. He also had the power to change time when he talked to Charlotte and I hope we find out id he did.

Finally, 8% of you are delusional and think the nuke never went off! Come on people, pick a side here!! Juliet smacked the thing 8 times, what more proof do you want?? This theory hurts my head because we will no doubt pick up where we left off and there’s no chance for a Juliet survival thus I can’t get onboard with it…

So there you have it, we are 1 day  away from seeing the Season 6 premier of Lost and I’m DYING right now. Why didn’t I wait until the show ended to start watching it?? Now I’m going to have to go insane week after week waiting for the next episode. I really believe answers are coming but it’s going to be a long season but at least we have each other…

P.S. At the end of every season something blows up. I think the island will blow up at the end of Season 6…

P.S. 2 Full disclosure: There is a video going around of what is supposed to be the first 4 minutes of the premier that ABC released to a lucky bunch of 815 fans and surprisingly one of those fans uploaded to the net. At the time I wrote this article I had not seen the video so this article has not been tainted by any spoilers. That being said I have since watched the 4 minutes and if that video is real…OMG…

See ya in Los Angeles

White screened

All episodes complete! 42 agonizing days until the Lost Season 6 premier, and like you I am completely lost.

Now that was one hell of a finale. Lost fans what did you do on your summer vacation? “Um we argued back and forth if the timeline of the show was reset when Juliet blew up the nuke”. I have a very strong opinion on what happened (surprised?) but I’m hoping to hear all your theories since you can now comment without fear of spoiling me. But first the recap:

We see Jacob & an unknown “friend” (being called nemesis in some circles) enjoying a typical 1800s day by the fully erect statue by the beach. There is a boat on the horizon (presumable the Black Rock) and Nemesis asks Jacob why he brought the boat to the island when people always end up fighting and killing each other. Jacob says until the final end everything is progress. Nemesis remarks that  he will someday find a loophole and kill Jacob. Next we see flashbacks of almost every significant Lostie and how Jacob interacted with all of them at some point. Jacob payed for the lunchbox kid-Kate stole, lent Sawyer the pen he used to write the letter to Sawyer, prevented Sayid from being hit by the car that killed Nadia, brought Locke back to life after his father pushed him out that window, congratulated Jin & Sun at their wedding, picked up Hurley outside the police station and convinced him to get on AA Flight 316 and left him a guitar case, and finally visited Boobie-Fett in the hospital and asked her to do him a favor. Interestingly enough, Jacob was not in the flashback where Juliet found out her parents were getting a divorce. Back on the present day island Locke tells Richard to take all The Others to see Jacob and tells Other Ben he has to kill Jacob. Other Ben agrees because Dead SlingShot (Alex) told him to do everything Locke said and because he feels slighted that Jacob never met him in all his years as leader of the Others. We find out Jacob lives at the bottom of the four-toed statue (what lies in the shadow of the statue…the one that can save us…apparently Jacob) and Other Ben and Locke going in for a quality time visit. While Locke and Other Ben are in the statue it it is revealed that Boobie-Fett and her pals were carrying around  real-Locke’s body the whole time, making everyone wonder who is in the statue with Other Ben! Cut to inside the statue, Jacob congratulates fake-Locke on finding a loop hole thus revealing him to be Nemesis. Nemesis’ plan works and Other Ben kills Jacob and for just for giggles, Nemesis kicks Jacob’s body into the fire.

Back in 1977, Kate, SawFleur & Juliet break out of the sub and go back to stop Jack (they also run into Rose, White Bernard & Vincent who have been living happily ever after for the last 3 years). Juliet changes her mind several times but eventually decides the right thing to do is to help Jack reset the future by blowing up the atom bomb down the chamber of the unbuilt hatch. Sayid who was likely given a fatal gun wound from an earlier gun fight, sets the atom bomb to detonate on impact. Ghostbuster then wisely asks the question: “How do you know blowing up the nuke isn’t the incident??” No one has an answer for him and they decide to blow up the nuke anyway. There is a big gun fight but the Losties win and Jack throws the nuke down the hatch hole but nothing happens. Meanwhile the drill hits the pocket of energy and everything metal begins to be pulled towards the pocket of energy. Juliet gets tangled in a chain and in a heartbreaking moment Sawyer loses her hand and she is pulled down to the bottom of the hatch hole. Juliet wakes up badly injuried at the bottom of the hatch hole and sees the nuke is still intact. Using a rock next to her, she slams the nuke 8 times and it explodes and we get LOST WHITE-screened. End of season. AHHHHH!

I am sure time is reset. It has to be. There is no way the writers would tease us with the possibility of a reset and then not give it to us. Based on the name of the first episode in season 6 plus the fact that everyone and Aaron’s mom is on the season 6 promo cover (welcome back Boone, Sticks, Mr. Eko), I believe 815 is landing in LAX. The question is how do the events of the island converge with the new present? The past 5 seasons can’t all be for nothing, that would be horrible! The writers would have a revolution on their hands! We’d take to the streets, shoot fire arrows at the writers and send the black smoke monster at ABC! It’s possible the nuke was “the incident” all along and somehow that flashes forward all the Losties into the present where life is happy for everyone, but I just don’t see it. Obviously everything would change if 815 lands safely in LAX starting with the passengers not knowing each other. Here are a few other not so obvious changes in history:

  • Jacob is alive. If 815 never crashes, Nemesis’ plan can never use Locke. I bet that’ll piss off Nemesis
  • What will Desmond do with himself on the island? If the hatch is never built, how does Desmond occupy himself? Does he become an Other or is he killed by The Others? He also won’t meet Faraday in Oxford and who knows what the consequences for that are.
  • Ethan is never born. Sawyer saves his mother in the future. Also who knows all the consequences that will occur from the Losties not traveling back in time!
  • Other Ben might die from his back tumor. On one hand Jack won’t be on the island to save him (neither will Ethan), but on the other hand if the hatch doesn’t blow up then the electrocal systems on the island will be intact meaning Other Ben can leave the island on the sub Locke will never blow up to see a real doctor
  • Desmond will never tell Penny to call him on christmas eve.
  • The freighter may never find the island. I think the 815 crash gave Widmore a good guess on the island’ location and without the crash, he might not have been able to find it.

And there are the obvious consequences. The bad: Sawyer is still a conman, Rose, Locke & Faraday will continue to have their physical ailments, Prego (Claire) gives up her baby, Charlie remains an addict, Jin is still a bad person and Michael is alive. But there is some good: all the passengers will survive, Sayid will be reunited with Nadia and Indiana will live because they probably never find the island. Like Sawyer, I was voting for Jack NOT to blow the nuke. Tear.

Now my theory can totally be shot to hell because in someways it doesn’t make sense. IF the Losties never crash on the island then the nuke is probably never contained and it’s certainly never blown up near the hatch which means time can’t be reset!!! Ahh paradox!!! This is and endless loop and can’t be explained and is the best evidence that time will not reset. I wonder how the writers will respond. It’s also worth mentioning that just because the hatch doesn’t rip flight 815 in-half doesn’t mean the plane won’t have electrical problems and crash land on the island just like AA 316. In fact this is the most likely scenario.

With all the other topics going on, I’ve avoided Jacob & Nemesis. I doubt I am alone in thinking that Nemesis IS the black smoke and it can take on the appearance of any dead person on the island. Since it hates humans, black smoke seems to enjoy killing them after judging them (it judged Mr. Eko the same way it judged Other Ben). I also think Jacob & Nemesis are aliens who somehow got punished and are placed on the island which is serving as a prison. Nemesis blames Jacob for the imprisonment and that’s why he wants to kill him. Makes sense to me…

Finally, I need to talk about Juliet & Sawyer. I loved them as a couple and was heartbroken when she let go of Sawyer’s hand. You really felt Sawyer’s pain in that scene. Even before that scene I was pissed at Juliet for giving up on Sawyer just because he looked at Kate. Let it go!! Kate ain’t all that and you’re almost as hott and you’re way more together. Juliet, you disappointed me…

Next up on Finally Lost…I’ll recap season 5 and formally list my Season 6 predictions. I know many of you have been reluctant to comment on the blog for fear of dropping spoilers (thank you for this, and amazingly enough nothing was spoiled!) but I’d like to hear your thoughts and theories on the upcoming series. What’s going to happen??

A Wrinkle in Time

I told you I hate rap music

Completed: 5-4 The Little Prince, 5-5 This Place is Death. 12 episodes left, 47 days to go. As you know, I don’t know anything that is to come and like the survivors I am completely lost.

Jin is alive!! I feel like John Malkovich from Rounders…Check Check Check. While I rejoice over Jin’s survival I definitely question this show’s ability to kill main characters. Now let’s see if Locke pulls a Houdini. Before I sound too ungrateful for the resurrection of Jin let me recap: Locke decides that the only way to stop the white time flashes is to go back to the Orchid. On the way there the Losties discover a dragon boat with a water bottle from an Indian Airline. The Losties steal the boat to shortcut to the Orchid but are followed and shot at presumably by the unknown Indian Airline Survivors until a white flash saves them. Flash to 1989 where the French crew lands on the island and finds Jin clinging to a piece of the blown up freighter. Jin attempts to take the group to the radio tower but they are attacked by the black smoke which kills 2 of their crew and somehow infects everyone else but Frenchy because Jin stopped her from going down in the temple. Jin white flashes forward in time and sees Frenchy kill her husband before he white flashes again and runs into the Losties. The white flashes are increasing by the minute and all the Losties are in danger of death by nosebleed. Indiana (Charlotte) gets so sick she has to stay behind, however, before she dies she reveals to Mr. Wizard (Daniel) that she grew up on the island and has been trying to find it ever since she left. She also tells him that a man told her that she must leave the island and should never return again or else she would die. That man was Mr. Wizard (dun dun dun). Back at the Orchid, Jin tells Locke to tell Sun he is dead and gives him his wedding ring as proof. Locke goes down to the ice wheel and meets Daddy Jack who berates him for letting Other Ben turn the wheel but then tells him how to stabilize the wheel which will presumable stop the white flashes and get Locke off the island.

And speaking of off the island, cut to Sayid killing another assassin who happens to have Kate’s address in his pocket. Jack goes off to help Kate who is stalking the lawyer demanding she take a blood test to prove she is Aaron’s mom. They follow her to Prego’s (Claire) mom’s room but that ends up being a too good to believe coincidence. We then see the lawyer meet up with Other Ben telling him how he’s going to get Hurley off and eventually all of the O6 (minus jailbird Hurley) meet up when it is revealed that Sun was following Other Ben with Aaron in tow. Sun is about to kill Other Ben when he tells her Jin is alive and everyone must go back to the island. This makes Sayid, Kate & Aaron bail but Other Ben convinces Sun and Jack to follow him somewhere for more Jin details. Cut to the church of the shady time lady and Desmond shows up because shady time lady is really Mr. Wizard’s mom and the women who told Dezmond who told him he can’t change time (dun dun dun 2). We are then cliff-hung when shady time lady says, “Well 4 ain’t a bad start.”

I like how the show has stopped using single character-centric flashbacks and flash forwards to progress the story. The technique of using the white flash to show what happened to the French team was a very cool no-flashback way of filling us in on events we have been wondering about since season 1. We got a partial answer as to why the whole French team, except Frenchy (Danielle), was infected by the mysterious illness but none of the Losties nor the Others were. I don’t know if the temple or the black smoke is the cause of the sickness but if it turns out to be the black smoke I might have to reinvestigate Mr. Eko sanity because of the time the black smoke completely enveloped him and let him go. Hopefully we’ll also learn why that happened and why later the black smoke decided to do take-backs and kill him instead.

We also got answers as to why the Losties were white flashing all over the place. It’s very unlike Other Ben to do a shoddy job but he really messed up by leaving the ice wheel off its axis. Someone clearly needs to re-watch the moving the island Dharma orientation video. I also love how Daddy Jack tells Locke to say hi to his son but doesn’t tell Locke who his son is. Hopefully Locke will figure it out and some of these connections will FINALLY be known. On that note has Kate figured out that Sawyer’s baby’s mama is her old pal yet? I hope so. Now on the topic of white flashes, Mr. Wizard says the white flash should affect people who have had the most island exposure first, which reveals that Indiana and the Ghostbuster (Miles) have been on the island before. Indiana tells us a little about her past and I’m still wondering if she’s that girl who once befriended Other Ben. Either way I imagine her mom or dad will turn out to be someone we know. You also gotta believe that the Ghostbuster got his talent while hanging out on everyone’s favorite dead-people-walking-around island

Now onto the subject of Jin and time travel. Jin, I missed you and welcome back! I would love to re-watch the earlier episodes to see if Frenchy and Jin have any scenes together. Continuing with Jin, it was very noble of him to try and convince Sun, via Locke, to not come back to the island. Unfortunately for Jin, he doesn’t realize that 3 years have passed for Sun and she’s no longer pregnant. If Sun does go back to the island, is she going to have to leave Ji Yeon? That’s pretty harsh considering Other Ben says they are going back for good. And just how will the O6 get back to the island? And do Desmond and Swoop (Frank) have to go back too? Is the new Indian Plane wreckage collateral damage from the O6′s return? I any case I think we saw our Losties white flash into the future. Now that the ice wheel is fixed I wonder if the Losties will flash-catchup to the rest of the world or if they will get have to live out those 3 years and we’ll just get 3 years worth of flashback story. Another option is that no time will pass for the Losties and they’ll just have to deal with the fact that 3 years have passed for the O6 (this is what I think will happen).

Finally, how many times can Other Ben lie in a series?? He told Locke that the dire consequence for the person who turns the ice wheel can’t go back to the island but clearly he and Locke’s dead body have every intention on going back. I also can’t believe that Desmond is just going to leave Penny and Charlie. Dez, don’t let Penny near Other Ben! Arg…

Next on Finally Lost…let’s find out what shady time lady is all about…

p.s. I know I haven’t talked about her much but the Ice Princess (Juliet) has really grown on me and redeemed herself. It’s a shame that both men she is attracted to love Kate.

If you had 70 hours to live what would you do?

Carry the 1...yep 70 hours till the end of the world
Completed: 5-1 Because You Left, 5-2 The Lie, 5-3, Jughead. 14 episodes left, 48 days to go. As you know, I don’t know anything that is to come and like the survivors I am completely lost.

Welcome back Lost! After 3 episodes of the new season I got more answers then I have questions which is a first. Let’s start with the recap: The season starts with our favorite Dharma asian orientation star being pulled away from filming to look at the frozen wheel in the Orchid station. On the way there we are intrigued because he passes Mr. Wizard (Daniel the physicist…Sawyer gave him this great nickname and I’m sticking to it). Next we see the Losties on the beach and they are miffed why their camp disappeared after the white flash of light appeared. According to Mr. Wizard (who stayed with the island because his boat was in the radius..check!) the Losties on the island are moving back and forth through time every time the white light shows up and they don’t know when it will show up next or when it will stop. Fearing he will need a constant, Mr. Wizard knocks on the hatch where Desmond is still a resident of (they flashed to 2001ish) and tells him to find his mother at Oxford and then flashes to the 1950s with the rest of the Losties. Once in the 1950s the Losties are attacked by Dharma folks who mistaken them for The Others and then attacked by The Others who mistaken them for Dharma folks. Sawyer and the Ice Princess (Juliet) try to escape but are captured by The Others. Locke shows up and rescues them but not before he got shot by Ethan in 2001ish and not before receiving medical attention, a compass and advice (you must bring the O6 back to the island by being dead) from Peter Pan (Richard) in present. As part of the rescue effort Locke captures 2 of The Others, one of whom turns out to be Charles Widmore. Widmore kills his partner before he can give Locke any info, but Locke lets Widmore go so he can follow him back to Peter Pan and The Others. Locke then goes to Peter Pan and gives him the compass that present-day Peter Pan gave him to prove his time travel story. Unfortunately, before Locke can find out how to get off the island from Pan, he white flashes off to another time. During the same time in the 50s, Mr. Wizard, who was also captured by The Others, was using his physicist skills to show The Others how to stop a leaking Hydrogen Bomb that the American’s were trying to detonate on the island. He tells The Others that burying the bomb will work because in 50 years the island is still standing and then he white flashes with Locke and the rest of the Losties.

Off the island we watch the O6 decide to lie about their entire experience to the world despite Hurley’s concerns. Flash to the future and Other Ben explains to Jack, in front of Locke’s coffin, that they must get all of the O6 back on the island as soon as possible. Jack laments at how hard that will be but Other Ben tells him to suck it up, makes him shave his ugly beard and flushes his pills down the toilet. Meanwhile Sayid kills one of Widmore’s guards at the Santa Rosa Mental Home and tells Hurley he is being watch and needs to go to a safe place. After checkmating Mr. Eko in their game of chess, Hurley and Sayid go to the not-so-safe house where Sayid increases his body count but takes a knockout dart in the neck. After a visit with his Dad, Hurley calls Jack so he can fix up Sayid but Hurley stays at his house where Other Ben shows up to recruit him. Instead of following Other Ben, Hurley gives himself up to the police outside his house who think he is responsible for Sayid’s kill count. Cut to Kate being visited by lawyers who want her to take a DNA test to prove she’s related to Aaron. Cut to Desmond who wakes up with a new memory of Mr. Wizard telling him to find his mother. Desmond tries to find Mr Wizard’s mom but only finds some cracked-out patient Mr. Wizard screwed up and whose bills are being paid for by…Mr. Widmore! Dez goes to Widmore to get Mama Mr. Wizard’s address but coldly doesn’t answer one question to a concerned dad who hasn’t heard from his daughter in 3 years (nor has he met his grandchild Charlie!) Cut to Other Ben talking to the lady from to some lady in a church. After doing some crazy equations Shady Time Lady informs Other Ben that they have 70 hours to get all of the O6 back to the island or it will be the end of the world…dun dun dun.

First the things that make sense. We know why Peter Pan was at Locke’s birth and why he asked him which objects were already his! This means Pan knew all about Locke since the 50s so who knows how that affected his decisions since. It also looks like I was right about Widmore being on the island before. I still think I’m right that the island was moved to hide it from him which is why he had such a hard time finding it again. I wonder who turned the ice wheel of banishment last time? Penny & Desmond got to live happily ever after for 3 years and have a son named Charlie. Would she be named after Charles Widmore who kept them apart, or the Charlie Pace that brought them together? I’ll go with Pace. And finally I totally agree with Hurley, lying made no sense!! How are you protecting the Losties from Mr. Widmore when he already knows the truth?? Stupid Jack.

Now the things I don’t understand. Why are only the Losties moving through time? Why isn’t everyone that was on the island at the time of the white light quantum leaping?? Mr. Wizard says you can’t change time but didn’t he change time when he talked to Desmond? Isn’t that why Dez woke up with that new memory? Jack asked Other Ben if Locke was really dead, might he be alive? Maybe Locke took something that makes it seem like you’re dead, but he’ll eventually wake back up (why do I keep trying to find back doors for all the dead main characters?) What is Sun’s end goal? Is it just revenge on Jack and Other Ben? It might be hard to convince her to go back to the island if she’s just after revenge. Why does Hurley keep seeing dead magic islanders? The scene where he was playing chess with Mr. Eko was classic! And finally…if the O6 do get back to the island it might be weird that 3 years has passed for them but only a few days/weeks have passed for the left behind Losties. And speaking of the left behind Losties, between the Robin Hood Fire Arrows and the ambush at the creek, are there any Losties still alive?? Not a good start to Sawyer’s term as leader of the Losties…

Next up on Finally Lost…If there is one man who can get the O6 to magic island in 70 hours, it’s Other Ben…

p.s. Is it just me or are there way too many things going on? That was a record long recap! I know some people like the recaps because it helps them remember things but are they getting too long?

We have to go back (Season 4 recap)

The Spoiler Free Season 5

The Spoiler Free Season 5

As promised here are the poll results, my Season 4 prediction results, the list of my favorite season 4 episodes and of course my new Lost Season 5 predictions. All in all Lost Season 4 was another great season. People keep asking me which season is my favorite and I keep telling them it’s too difficult to differentiate between all the different seasons (too many at once). Gun to my head I would say Lost Season 3 is my favorite and the worst part of Lost Season 4 was that it was so short due to the strike. I am very aware that the episodes I have left are quickly running out and I have been trying to watch them at a slower pace because I don’t want them to end.

Now for the poll results: 50-50, we had a tie! Much like the Losties, half of you would have followed Locke into the woods to your eventual death (unless you think of yourself as Sawyer, Hurley or Prego) while the other half of you would be safe at the beach. The ironic thing is that Locke was right but he led his people right into danger, while Jack was wrong (*cough* as usual) but kept most of his people safe (except for those who were blown up on the freighter). I think this teaches us to follow the leader who is more concerned with your safety than the safety of a mysterious island that often demands sacrifices.

And now for the Season 4 results, I think I did pretty good:

The Jack Shepard school of predictions (WRONG):

  • The 4th season will be all about the island. Why it’s so magical and how it got its properties. What the hell was I thinking?? I’m starting to believe we won’t ever learn this
  • In the future flash Kate is returning home to someone we haven’t met yet. Some big bad rich guy type. Who else could have gotten her out of all her legal troubles,  Maybe Mr. Widmore?? Arg! Of course Jack’s plan got her out of trouble and she was going home to Aaron. Really missed the mark on that one

The John Locke school of predictions (CHECK):

  • Locke is in the coffin. Nailed it! I lose some points for waffling all season and saying it might be Other Ben after all.
  • Time travel is going to be huge. This was a better prediction when I made it in season 3, than when I reiterated right before season 4. There also seems to be more of a space/time thing going on so I don’t know if that affects the purity of this prediction.
  • The survivors will leave the island at the cliff hanger of season 4. Other Ben isn’t lying, the bad guys are coming. I think both of these were pretty obvious but I’ll take credit none-the-less.

The Ben Linus school of grey predictions (Half credit):

  • The big 5 (Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Locke & Sayid) will not die this season and I believe all 5 will make it to season 6 (I think the coffin future is avoidable). I also think that there is NO WAY Prego (Claire) or Hurley can die. The writers won’t kill the most beloved happy-go-lucky character and they won’t kill a single mom and leave devil baby (Aaron) an orphan. Wow this prediction came out interesting. The coffin future does not appear to be avoidable and I don’t know if Locke’s death counts as a Season 4 death or not. Thoughts? The writers did in fact have Claire abandon her baby but it remains to be seen if she’s dead. I was tempted to put this in wrong category but may be I’ll revisit this prediction at the next season recap.
  • Jin dies. I didn’t take credit for this because I’m in denial and still hoping I’m wrong. I’m in danger of being optimistic to the point of foolishness at this juncture…

In a new feature I thought I’d list my top 3 favorite episodes of season 4:

  1. Ji Leon. I don’t think this is a surprise to anyone. So well written, didn’t see the flashback and the flash forward coming and it prompted the great Jin debate.
  2. The Constant. Again this shouldn’t be a shock because I like Desmond and Penny so much but I also really like how they dealt with time travel in this episode. This is the beginning of our understanding of how Lost will deal with time travel and so far, very cool
  3. The Shape of Things to Come. Slingshot’s death and some real moments with Other Ben. As a rule Other Ben flashbacks are awesome.

Least favorite episode: Meet Kevin Johnson. 1) it was about my least favorite character and 2) for an episode that was supposed to cover the large topic of “What happened to Michael & Walt since season 2?” we got very few surprises and boring answers.

Last but not least my Lost Season 5 predictions:

  • Lt. Daniels (Matt) kills/killed Locke.
  • The physicist and the people on the boat somehow end up back on the island
  • The Losties and the Others team up to become one big tribe, but then break up in a civil war (Others/Losties war is the bad thing that happened because Jack left)
  • Ghostbuster (Miles) & Prego die this season
  • Peter Pan (Richard) is as old as the island
  • Aliens built the island (we might not learn this until season 6 though)
  • Other Ben is trying to get the O6 back on the island so he can find Penny
  • 3 years will not pass for the people on the island like it does for the O6. If we are dealing with time and space, then moving the island (space) means moving time.
  • Jin is alive! (I had to..)

Well there they are, the fearless Lost Season 5 predictions.

Next up on Finally Lost, it’s time to stop predicting and time to start watching…

p.s. Shout out to my boy Johnny Cavs for lending me Season 5 and taking the time to put paper over all the pictures that might be spoilers. That’s hardcore. So far I haven’t been really spoiled yet…

Lost Season 4 complete

Jeremy Bentham

Completed: 4-13/14 There’s No Place Like Home Part 2. 17 episodes left, 50 days to go. As you know, I don’t know anything that is to come and like the survivors I am completely lost.

Lost really knows how to do season finales and thankfully I don’t have Season 5 yet or else I would have immediately popped it in the DVD. Here’s the recap: Jack & Locke get into an argument because Locke says the island doesn’t want Jack to leave. Jack thinks Locke is insane but Locke tells him he will believe in miracles soon and when he does he needs to lie about everything that’s happened since they landed on the island to protect them from Widmore. Back at the helicopter the commandos walk into a Kate induced Other trap and are all killed. In return for their help, Other Ben tells Sayid & Kate they are free to leave the island. Back on the boat, Dumb-Ass Dad (Michael) uses nitrogen to keep the bomb’s battery frozen until Desmond can disable the bomb. They don’t realize the bomb’s trigger is tied to the leader of the commando’s heart rate and if he dies the bomb will go off. Cut to Locke & Other Ben having a heart to heart about moving the island and passing the leadership-of-The-Others torch. The Commando leader shows up but Other Ben kills him with no regard for the people on the boat (Slingshot revenged). Other Ben then tells Locke to go lead The Others while he moves the island. He then goes to a secret frozen part of the Orchid Station and turns a donkey wheel to move the island. Other Ben had to move the island because the unfortunate consequence for the person moving the island is they can never go back to it. Back at the beach, the physicist is still loading people in the 6 person mini-boat because they don’t know about the bomb. The physicist tries to convince Indiana (Charlotte) to go back with him but she decides to stay after Ghostbuster (Miles) taunts her about leaving so soon after she’s been searching for the island for so long. Cut to the helicopter where Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, Sawyer and Swoop (Frank!) begin to fly back to the boat but have trouble because they didn’t realize it moved closer to the island. To save fuel, Sawyer jumps out of the chopper and swims back to the island which buys the rest of the crew the time they needed to land on the boat when they Hurley finally spots it. Desmond frantically warns them that they must all leave the boat because the bomb is going to explode as soon as the nitrogen runs out. Kate goes to find Jin but Jack pulls her back into the chopper and they leave without Jin. The boat explodes as Daddy Jack tells Michael thanks for his services and while Jin is still on the deck. Next, the passengers on the helicopter watch the island disappear and with nowhere to land, the chopper eventually runs out of fuel and crashes into the water. Desmond, Swoop, Jack, Kate, Sayid, Sun, Hurley & Aaron all end up in the chopper life boat which is picked up by…Penny’s boat! Now that Jack has seen the miracle of the disappearing island he takes Locke’s advice and convinces everyone to lie about the crash and tells Desmond and Penny to go into hiding. Flash forward to the future and we witness Walt visiting Hurley and asking him about his father & Jeremy Bentham, Sayid killing a Widmore spy at the mental hospital and breaking Hurley out (after he checkmates Mr. Eko), Kate having a dream in which Prego (Claire) tells her not to bring him (Aaron I presume) back to the island, Sun meeting Mr. Widmore and telling him they have mutual goals in finding the island, and lastly, Jack going back to the funeral home and looking at Jeremy Bentham aka John Locke’s body (dun dun dun). Other Ben shows up and tells Jack he has some ideas on how that they can go back to the island but all the Ocean 6 must go plus Locke’s body.

Wow what an ending. After all the speculating and it’s Locke in the coffin! All the wondering of how those particular 6 ended up getting saved and it’s only because they happened to be in the helicopter. In addition Desmond & Swoop got saved but they had to go into hiding. Jin was seconds away from surviving (I”m still holding out hope) and it was all Jack’s fault if he is indeed dead. Other Ben won for now because killed all of Widmore’s commandos and has hidden the location of the island from him again. And now I think we know why Other Ben wouldn’t let anyone leave the island…he was afraid of giving away it’s location. It’s why he never helped the survivors get off.  He never really had to worry about them getting off in the first place because there is only one heading that would allow you to leave the island and what are the odds the survivors would have found it. For the same reason Penny must have been circling around the island looking for Desmond but couldn’t break into the island’s event horizon.

While a few things were answered, there are still so many questions. What the hell is the island? I’m starting to think the aliens theory should be back on the table. Why are people whose dead bodies are on the island allowed to walk around? (Daddy Jack, Mr. Eko, Charlie, Yemi, etc.) Why did Claire tell Kate not to bring him back when Charlie and Daddy Jack are saying you have to go back. Why is Other Ben helping the O6 get back to the island? What bad things happened to the people on the island since the O6 left it (probably to find Penny)? What happened to the physicist’s mini-boat since he was between the island and big boat when the island disappeared. Is Indiana that little girl who befriended Other Ben on the island when they were young? What does Widmore want to do with the island? And of course the classics: what are the numbers, the black smoke and why do pregnant women on the island die? There are only 2 seasons left and still so many more questions to go…

Finally, I still haven’t given up on Jin. May be he survived the explosion and got rescued by the physicist’s mini-boat and got to another safe island somewhere. I know I’m still in the denial stage of grieving but I really want him to pull through. Sun must agree with me or why else would she want to get back to the island. I’m also very happy for Desmond & Penny. I hope they have good times together but judging by the lives of the other O6, I’m thinking tha won’t be the case. Sorry about all the venting but I’ve underestimated how difficult this exercise is yourself. I know it’s frustrating for you out there as well because all you can do is smile and try to not give anything away when I vent or tell you my latest theories. Well just 17 more episodes and we will be on the same page!

Next up on Finally Lost, I’ll give my season 5 predictions and score the ones from season 4 and then I can finally begin season 5!

There’s no place like home

The Oceanic 6
Completed: 4-11 Cabin Fever, 4-12 There’s No Place Like Home Part 1. 19 episodes left, 51 days to go. As you know, I don’t know anything that is to come and like the survivors I am completely lost.

I’m very sad that I’m 19 episodes away from having to go back and watch Lost like a normal person. The show is  fantastic but I would have been infuriated by the lack of answers. I’ve never seen a show that would leave you hanging for seasons at a time. And there are still so many questions, here’s to hoping Season 5 provides more answers. Before I think about season 5 I need to watch the season 4 finale and before even that, I need to give you the recap of the 2 episodes I did watch.

Recap: We get a Locke flashback and learn he was 2 months premature and the Ageless Richard was present both for his birth and at his foster home to question Locke about which objects were already his. Locke chose the dirt, a compass & a knife which obviously meant he wasn’t special enough and Peter Pan (Richard) leaves in a bad mood. We then watch Locke get locked in a locker, and later we see him getting advice from  PT therapist poser, Lt. Daniels, (Matt?) who tells him he should take his crippled ass on a walk-about and then thank him for the advice the next time they meet. Back on the island, Locke has a dream to get a map from a dead Dharma guy to find Jacob’s cabin, but when he get’s to the cabin he finds Daddy Jack (Christian!) and Prego (Claire) instead of Jacob. Daddy Jack gives Locke instructions to move the island and Other Ben & Hurley accompany him to the Orchid where this simple task can be completed. Other Ben then gives himself up to the commando unit, which is patrolling the Orchid, so Locke can sneak past them and move the island. Back on the beach, Swoop (the nice helicopter pilot) drops a sat phone trail for Jack & Kate to follow but when they run into Sawyer, Ghostbuster (Miles) and Aaron, Kate goes back to the beach with Aaron and Sawyer & Jack go for the chopper. Once Sawyer & Jack free Swoop they discover the commandos are going after Other Ben at the Orchid and they decide to follow because Leader Sawyer won’t leave Hurley to die. Back on the beach Sayid arrives with a mini-boat that fits exactly 6 and the physicist begins to use it to transport the survivors back to the boat (which is now a huge bomb). Sayid of course goes with Kate to track down Sayer & Jack but are captured by Peter Pan and The Others. Flash forward to the Oceanic 6 media day. Hurley’s family, Mama Jack, Shady Korean Parents and even Nadia are there to greet the 6 but no is there for Kate. We are then treated to a Hurley birthday party  (too bad his car’s odometer was stuck on the numbers) and to a Sun & Daddy moment where she tells him that she is using her considerable Oceanic settlement to take over his company. Oh yea and Prego’s mom apparently pulled out of the coma and decided to go to Daddy Jack’s long delayed funeral and tell Jack that Prego was his half sister.

Why is Daddy Jack speaking for Jacob now? Is it because his dead body is somewhere on the island and it gave him cool island powers? Why does Prego look like she and Daddy Jack just smoked a pound of the best shit magic island had to offer? Daddy Jack tells Locke that Aaron is where he is supposed to be, but then Dead Charlie tells Jack (via Hurley) he isn’t supposed to be raising the baby. Will these dead people make up their minds? I’m also miffed about how Peter Pan identified Locke as special as a preemie and what was up with that time traveling test. I suppose it’s too much to ask that Locke recognize Peter Pan. At least moving the island makes a lot of sense! Now we know why Mr. Widmore can’t find the island if he was once on it. It’s also explains why Jack can’t get back. The fact that the mini boat fits 6 makes sense why only 6 Losties could be rescued but other than Sun, why those 6? Why couldn’t Jin go? Does that mean he really does die…

I think the path forward is this: the 6 leave the island for whatever reason and the others stay behind to live forever on magic island. The island is moved so the O6 can’t find their way back but Other Ben leaves the island (Locke takes over as leader of the Others) to take revenge on Charles Widmore, thus recruiting Sayid. Apparently magic island wants to O6 back for some reason and by the end of season 5 they decide to follow Other Ben back. Season 5 will teach us more about magic island and Sawyer will be the leader of the Losties.

Next up on Finally Lost…the bomb on the boat forces everyone to abandon it which is why only 6 can escape the island and the physicist, Swoop and all of the commandos will die. Please please please don’t let Jin die. I also don’t know why Desmond would go back and stay on the island…

p.s. we learned that the 3 the O6 claimed that died on the fake island were Boone, Libby & Charlie, I thought they had mentioned only 2 in the previous flash forward. I also wonder why they picked those three…

ABOUT THIS BLOG

I have always had a difficult time waiting to find out the ending of my favorite movies, TV shows & books. My resume of obsession includes watching Season 1 of 24 in 3 days, watching Season 2 of 24 in 18 hours and reading each Harry Potter book in one sitting. Knowing that I would love and become obsessed with Lost, I decided to wait before the last season to begin watching it.

This blog will follow me as I watch 5 seasons (103 episodes) of Lost before the final season begins. Relive the experience through me and feel free to mock my terrible theories. Please do not post any spoilers!
